NitroPlate’s Cast Iron Gray finish is a high temperature ceramic material that approximates the dark gray appearance of natural cast iron. This finish is commonly used on cast iron exhaust manifolds where the customer desires more of a restoration look. Other common applications include brake drums, brake rotors and cast iron brackets.
NitroPlate’s Cast Iron Gray is capable of up to 1700 degrees F and is highly resistant to gasoline and all other common “under-hood” chemicals. Corrosion performance is outstanding as it is applied as a topcoat over our metallic/ceramic coating. This provides a combination of both sacrificial and barrier protection.
Care and Maintenance
As with all NitroPlate finishes; Cast Iron Gray is fully oven cured before it leaves our plant. There is no need to be concerned about any sort of break-in procedure. Clean with soap and water as needed. Stains can typically be removed with a good “mag and aluminum” type polish.
NitroPlate Bright is a highly polished aluminum ceramic coating capable of withstanding 1300 degrees. It has excellent thermal properties. This cuts down on under hood heat, increases horsepower and helps in scavenging of the exhaust. Nitroplate Bright can also be used in areas such as intakes, rear end housings, control arms, and wheelie bars and steel wheels
NitroPlate Satin has dull appearance that is ideal for intake manifolds to keep the original look. Nitroplate Satin is good to 1300 degrees also. It is resistant to staining from fuels, etc
NitroPlate's Satin Black finish is a high temperature ceramic material that is designed for customers who prefer a more stealth look.
